It's All About Me! Hello!

When I'm not making jewelry..... I'm also into: Graphic Design |

I could sit and make jewelry all day… and sometimes I do! I have always had the passion for jewelry running in my blood. My first job was working in the jewelry department of the Bon Ton Department store in Uniontown, PA. It was like a dream come true and I spend most of my tiny paychecks right there. I started making my own jewelry pieces years ago using buttons and my interest in creating my own designs grew from there. I love to twist the wires and string the beads into unique pieces that are truly one of a kind. I have a few favorite designs that I make over and over again but most of my pieces are totally unique. You’re not going to run into someone else wearing the same necklace! People love my jewelry because it’s simple, yet fashionable, and very comfortable. I try very hard to keep the price as affordable as I can. Gathering supplies for my jewelry making is often as fun as making the pieces themselves. I have my usual suppliers but I also scurry through antiques shops, thrift shows and even yard sales to find unusual beads that you just can’t buy anymore. I cut the old necklaces apart, wash and dry the beads and make something totally new, totally me! When not making jewelry I can be found doing a variety of other fun (or not so fun) activities. At night I may be “Jewelry Queen” but during the day I can be found sitting, mild mannered, behind my desk at SAIC in Bloomfield, IN where I work as a Graphic Designer / Web Designer maintaining a web site as part of the Accounting Department. Another favorite activity of mine is working every week with the Audio Visual Team at the Linton First Christian Church in Linton, IN. Each week our team prepares video and slides for use during the Sunday services while the praise band and singers practice. There’s always a flurry of activity on practice night! It’s an honor to get to serve with such a talented bunch of people. My faith is very important to me. My History I was born and raised in Uniontown, PA. After graduating in 1982 from the Uniontown Area Senior High School I went on to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I graduated with a degree in Visual Communications, a fancy way to say Graphic Design. Then the most fascinating man asked me to marry him! He was and still is my high school sweetheart, my “boyfriend” as someone calls him. He was already one of the few, the proud, the Marines and off we went to explore the country. First stop was Huntsville, AL where we got married. The military moved us around a lot but we finally landed in Worthington, IN, with our dogs, Pippy and Buddy, and cat, Oreo. We’ve been planted here for almost 13 years now! My Interests I have many hobbies….Scrapbooking, Photography, Web Design, Graphic Design, Gardening.
